The Toronto food culture has been growing at a vast pace in recent years, specifically in the last decade or so. President of Zinc Developments, Ken Zuckerman has a few favourite eating hot spots in his beloved city, and at the top of that list is Jules Bistro, located at Spadina and Queen.
While the food is certainly something to write home about – just looking at those frites will make you salivate – part of what makes this quaint French restaurant extra special is its owner and head chef, Eric Strippoli. Not only does he possess the charismatic qualities of a French gentleman, that of which brings a unique and exceptional buzz to his restaurant every night, he maintains an undeniable authenticity which is what separates Jules Bistro from other destinations.
Eric, who has become a close friend of Ken’s, is constantly providing quality dishes to his guests, but he himself will say that what he loves are people who bring “good vibes,” who have come to Jules to have special moments surrounded by excellent food, wine, and atmosphere. He believes that going out for a meal is all about the sensory experience – first you eat with your eyes, then with your nose, and so on. He truly feels that in the presentation and ambiance of his restaurant, people can come and have a little piece of France, and be part of a beautiful intimacy that Eric has strived for at Jules Bistro in the process.
